How To Make Yorkshire Puddings Using An Air Fryer?

Yorkshire pudding is a delicious puffy bun that got its name from the Yorkshire county in England. Its taste and crispiness with its soft and light fluffy interior will blow your mind. They look very tempting and taste even better. The golden brown buns rise beautifully in an air fryer to an amazing height and shape. This 5 ingredient recipe can be made in an air fryer in 15 minutes and the resulting dish is quite versatile. You can have it as a side dish, as a main course, or on its own. Your kids will love it and you can make them healthy with fruit and powdered sugar. The aim of making it in an air fryer is to make the recipe simple and repeatable.

Yorkshire pudding is not exactly a pudding in the traditional sense of the word. It is a soft fluffy and light bun that is made from flour eggs and milk in an air fryer or oven. It tastes great and reminds me of the savory egg flavor in pancakes. The texture is a crispy exterior with a light and fluffy interior. The golden brown color gives them the appearance of a  tempting well cooked crispy bun. You can eat it with gravy and sauces or make it a sweet dessert with custard, fruit, and whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 3 eggs

  • 1cup of flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon sugar (This is optional..I like it as it gives a sweet and savory taste)

  • 2 tablespoon oil

Directions

  • To make a Yorkshire pudding mix the ingredients in a bowl and whisk them properly until you get a smooth consistency. Whisking is important so that they rise to a nice fluffy texture.
  • Pour the mixture into hot greased silicone baking cups.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400F.
  • Cook at 400 F for 5 min.
  • Add five tablespoons of mixture in the silicone cup.
  • Cook at 400F for 18 min
  • Do not open the fryer while cooking.

Notes

  • To prevent the puddings from sticking to the ramekins apply butter on the inside surface, it works better than oil or spray. Don’t peek in the air fryer while cooking to maintain the heat otherwise the puddings will collapse.
