You love onion bhajis, then you’ll love this Airfryer recipe! It’s a quick and easy way to make onion bhajis that are crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Plus, it’s budget-friendly and can be made in just a few minutes.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium size red onions

  • 1 cup gram flour /chickpea flour

  • 2 Tsp rice flour

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp ground coriander

  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder

  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves

  • Salt to taste

Directions

  • Cut the onions in half and then thinly slice them.
  • Mix the salt into them and set them aside in a bowl for 10 mins.
  • After 10 mins the onions will be limp and moist.
  • In the sliced onion bowl add the remaining ingredients except for the gram flour to the onions. Mix well.
  • Keep adding gram flour to this mixture with a spoon and keep mixing. Be careful not to add too much gram flour. You should easily be able to make soft balls of the onion mixture.
  • Pre-heat your air fryer to 176C / 380 F.
  • Brush the basket with oil generously.
  • Add small lumps of the onion batter into an Airfryers basket without touching each other.
  • Brush a little oil on the top. Air fry for 12- 13 minutes, rotating them at halftime.
  • Serve hot or at room temperature.
