How to compare an air fryer with an oven without inventing savings

Compare the same food and portion. Record the minutes and measured kWh for each appliance where possible. A lower wattage is not automatically cheaper if the appliance runs for longer.

What a fair comparison needs

1. Same task: use the same food, weight and starting temperature.

2. Total energy: compare kWh for the whole session, not only the wattage on the label.

3. Useful result: confirm that both methods reached the same safe, acceptable cooking outcome.

4. Repeat: one cooking session may not represent different foods, batch sizes or appliance settings.
